If you have half a day at your disposal and don't suffer from vertigo we recommend you test your mettle with the crossing of Monte Bianco by cable car. An extreme engineering challenge at 3500m (11,375ft) amongst the permanent snows. With SkyWay you will be immersed in a breathtaking landscape thanks to the cabins that rotate through 360° and the three futuristic stations with bars, restaurants and other leisure facilities.
If, instead, you'd like to test your high altitude endurance spend a night at 3,317 metres (10,882ft). The Rifugio Teodulo mountain refuge will reward you with the unforgettable thrill of a night beneath the stars.
Imagine a hot bath in an open air swimming pool surrounded by fresh snow. Or a powerful jet of water that massages your neck. Alternatively a sauna at 90° followed immediately by a dive into an ice-cold pool. The thermal baths at Pré-Saint Didier will reward you with sensations of pure pleasure.
If instead of the pleasures of water you are also looking for its therapeutic qualities you shouldn't miss a day at the Thermal Baths of Saint Vincent.
Thrill seekers have, in the Aosta Valley, an embarassment of choice. Would you prefer a hot air balloon ascent, white water rafting on the icy waters of the Dora or a tandem hang-gliding flight? Your choice and your nerve.
Wining and Dining
The Aosta Valley is known for its abundant offerings of food and wine linked to the local traditions. The range of suggestions that the Hotel Village are able to offer you is practically unlimited. From dinners with typical valdostano menus (polenta with Fontina cheese, fonduta, hearty local soups) to cellar tastings of DOC wines... All the way to evenings in the pursuit of music and enjoyment. You'll have an embarassment of choice.
At Aosta you can also seize the opportunity to spend some time shopping: to buy something useful or give yourself a treat, acquire a souvenir to take home, for pure caprice... Surprise someone close to your heart with a gift, and pleasethem with the bargain you've tracked down. The shops in the historic centre of Aosta are just 5 kilometres (3 miles) away.
Ski & Snowboard
in the Aosta Valley you can do downhill skiing, boarding and cross country skiing. Everyone knows this. But which are the slopes that are really worth skiing? Where can you ski on the 15th August?
At the hotel Village we can tell you the whys and wherefores.
You've never set foot on a golf course? Or are you expert in the game and know the difference between a setup, a backswing and a downswing? Good.
Whether you're a beginner or an expert there's a course suitable for your needs..
“If you love the mountains and know how to stay in a saddle .. then we're already on horseback”
Because the Aosta Valley doesn't lack stables at high altitude nor the expert instructors ready to accompany you on trail rides through woods, torrents and uncontaminated glades.
